1. The dream that inspired Pokéumans was actually me staring at myself in a mirror and seeing myself as a Lucario, and trying to use telepathy. The base setting was inspired by the story "Pokémorphs 101 - Lucario TF" by AuraGuardianHadou, in fact there are many parallels to it.

2. Most of the series has been written from the gut, very rarely do I plan out plot points ahead of time. For example, Energy Channeling was something I came up with initially to justify Brandon's powers. However some parts of the story were planned from the beginning, such as the Pokéxtinction base raid, the dream machines, Cameron's Dark rage, the Legendary Keys and the PokéDimension.

3. Chapter 11 was the fastest chapter written, it was written in only 2 weeks. Chapter 18 is the longest, with over a year.

4. Reggie is based on Grovyle from PMD, he also wasn't named after Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime, I just happened to like the name. Reggie's death was also planned in the early stages.

5. Dean was actually my first requested character, he is based on a friend I had in high school. He requested to be a Typhlosion and have his character be significant somehow. My first real request character was Travis the Raichu by shadowfox014

6. Asula is the scientist who didn't die in the explosion, the reason for her anger is the same reason Mr. X is evil. Asula wasn't named after Azula from Avatar, but from the Spanish word for blue. The fact she and Mr. X are siblings was something I came up with very early on.

7. Andy the Toxicroak, Scott the Electabuzz, and Milton the Skuntank were all named after people who bullied me in high school. Nat was originally named John, but was changed to form the acronym MSN. Nat is the only bully to have a personality because of this.

8. The series takes place in 2010, over a span of just a few months.

9. At one point I had written an ending for the series involving Brandon singing Rick Astly's "Never Gonna Give You Up." It was deleted eventually.

10. Although I had initally stated Pokéumans came out on March 23rd, this was due to my timezone settings being incorrect. Chapter 1 actually came out on March 24th at 1 AM.

11. The group was created in August of 2010, five months after Chapter 1. Lornext was the first person to write a spinoff that was called "V2".

12. The ways Pokéxtinction brainwashed people went through many development cycles. Originally they were to build huge towers that could brainwash anyone in the vicinity, but once Gen V was released, it became much easier to explain.

13. Mike is based on my best friend, I couldn't figure out what Pokémon to make him so I made him a Ditto so he could be all of them. However Mike's personality differs greatly than his Pokéuman counterpart. He was also supposed to have a gimmick where he complained he was pink and was mistaken for a girl because shiny Ditto are blue. This didn't end up happening.

14. Mr. Mayer was named after my 9th Grade science teacher. There is a subplot where he is in love with Ms. Yepergo, the Miltank lunchlady.

15. There was going to be an idea where Brandon would be captured and turned feral, but there was no place to fit it in so it was scrapped.

16. Larry Bellowich the Loudred was supposed to be a one-off character, but I liked him so much I put him in additional chapters.

17. The idea for Brandon to be imprisoned in Chapter 4 came to me while I was on vacation, after watching a Scooby-Doo episode.

18. While I try to incorporate aspects of my real-life into the series, such as places I visit, I had never been to New York City prior to writing Chapters 11-13.

19. Originally for Chapter 9 I was going to have us be transported to the Pokéxtinction base in real Poké Balls, but this idea was scrapped.

20. Many of the one shot characters I introduced in the series were people who I was friends with at the time, such as Austin, Fang, Travis, David, Pyra and Tyler.

BONUS FACT: Originally Mr. X's plan WAS to destroy all Pokéumans, akin to his original mantra of being "impure." However I soon realized it didn't make much sense in context, so I changed it so that it would be his cover to hide his true intentions.
Well it's July, and that mini-series is on hold, again -_-

In the meanwhile, I wanted to share 20 facts about the original series that you may not know! It hope you find them interesting during your excruciatingly long wait for Chapter 18! If I think of more facts I'll update them here :3

Pokéumans belong to the one and only me.

(EDIT: Fixed some spelling errors, added to some facts and added a bonus!)
